A Structured Certification Roadmap for Your Target Market

We help structure the path from technical-file preparation to application coordination by assessing the product, target market and applicable programme requirements together.

  • Market-specific scope
  • Technical-file preparation
  • Process coordination

SERVICE SCOPE

Turn Programme Requirements into a Manageable Process

The certification route varies by product group, intended use, target country and available technical evidence. An initial assessment identifies the appropriate programme and application steps.

Application Coordination

Track the application steps conducted with the relevant authority or authorised organisation.

Testing and Audit Plan

Plan testing, factory inspection or quality-system assessment where the programme requires them.

The final list depends on the product and selected programme. The following documents can be prepared for the initial assessment.

  • Manufacturer and authorised-representative details, where applicable
  • Product description, model list and variants
  • Technical drawings, circuit diagrams and bill of materials
  • Applied standards and risk assessment
  • Available test reports and technical evidence
  • User, installation and safety instructions
  • Product label, marking and packaging drafts
  • Quality-management and production-control documents
  • Declaration of conformity or existing certificates
  • Target market, importer and shipment information

Acceptance, validity or the need for repeat testing is decided by the relevant programme owner or authorised evaluation organisation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Before Starting the Certification Process

Common questions about programme selection and application preparation.

How do I identify the programme required for my product?

The product’s technical description, intended use, HS code and target market are assessed together. Final classification is confirmed against the market’s current regulations.

Does DERA issue certificates?

This page does not describe DERA as an accredited body or notified body. DERA supports technical preparation and process coordination; the official evaluation and final decision belong to the relevant authority or authorised certification organisation.

Can I use my existing test reports?

The report standard, scope, date and status of the issuing laboratory are reviewed. Acceptance depends on the selected programme rules and evaluation organisation.

How long does certification take?

Timing varies with product complexity, document readiness, testing or audit needs and official review times. A project plan can be established after the initial review.

Is a factory audit required for every programme?

No. An audit or quality-system assessment may be required depending on the programme, product group and selected conformity route.

Is the process complete once a certificate is obtained?

Some programmes require renewal, surveillance, shipment documentation or notification of product changes. Ongoing obligations should be planned for each programme.
